MyChoiceForAll: Sensitivity Analysis for TGNC Contraception Decision Aid

Invention Description
Choosing a contraceptive method can be complex, particularly for transgender and gender-nonconforming (TGNC) individuals assigned female at birth (AFAB), whose healthcare needs and personal preferences may not be fully addressed by existing decision tools. Many current resources do not adequately account for the wide range of medical conditions, treatment goals, and individual priorities that influence contraceptive choice. As a result, recommendations may be less personalized or transparent. There is a need for decision support systems that provide accurate, individualized guidance while reflecting the unique needs of this population.

Researchers at Arizona State University have developed a sensitivity analysis framework for the MyChoiceForAll contraception decision aid to improve the accuracy and reliability of personalized recommendations. The system evaluates how changes in the weighting of decision factors, such as personal preferences, medical preferences, and health conditions, affect contraceptive recommendations. Using univariate and bivariate simulations, it identifies which factors have the greatest impact on decision outcomes, increasing transparency and confidence in the tool's recommendations. This approach strengthens the decision aid while building a robust, evidence-based knowledge base tailored to TGNC individuals assigned female at birth.

This sensitivity analysis system provides an enhanced personalized contraception decision aid for transgender and gender-nonconforming individuals assigned female at birth.
