Anthony E. Pullen, Ph.D.
Leveraging decades of expertise, Anthony has supported Skysong Innovations’ Physical Sciences team as a consultant since September of 2020. He works closely with Skysong Innovations’ intellectual property and licensing teams to support translating ASU innovations into the marketplace.
Prior to joining the Skysong Innovations team, Anthony was employed with CLEARink Displays, a University of British Columbia spin-out company where he managed the IP portfolio. In that capacity, he procured invention disclosures from the technical team, drafted and filed patent applications, led monthly IP strategy meetings with senior management, resolved investor due diligence, and worked with domestic and foreign outside counsel in patent application prosecution proceedings. Prior to CLEARink, he worked in various positions in research and development, IP, manufacturing, and product engineering for Massachusetts Institute of Technology spin-out companies E Ink Corporation and A123 Systems. At A123, Anthony was a part of the team that optimized LiFePO4 cathode particle synthesis, scaled-up, manufactured and delivered the first LiFePO4-based battery products to the marketplace. He continues to advise diverse clients in technical and intellectual property matters in various areas related to rechargeable Li-ion batteries. At E Ink, he developed new electrophoretically-responsive engineered pigments that are currently used in products such as in eReaders, electronically switchable shelf labels and license plates, and other various display signage applications. Anthony is a co-author on 20 peer-reviewed technical publications and a named inventor on over 50 U.S. and foreign patents.
Anthony, a registered patent agent, has a B.Sc. in chemistry from Ball State University, and a Ph.D. in inorganic chemistry from the University of Florida. Anthony was also a Chateaubriand Postdoctoral Fellow at the LCC-CNRS in Toulouse, France, and a post-doctoral researcher at MIT.
