Jordan Bell, Ph.D.

Director of Intellectual Property

Jordan joined Skysong Innovations in April of 2021 and serves as the Director of Intellectual Property for the Life Sciences team. His role involves working closely with ASU faculty and staff and Skysong Innovations’ business development team to advance ASU discoveries and inventions into the marketplace, by facilitating invention disclosures, evaluating technology, monitoring patent preparation and prosecution, and managing IP.

Prior to joining Skysong Innovations, Jordan worked as a research manager at Global Patent Solutions where he managed a team of research analysts on IP issues relating to patentability, freedom to operate, invalidity, and landscape-based searches in a wide range of technical fields including biotechnology, medical devices, and chemistry.

Jordan’s research experience includes molecular biology research at the University of Texas Health Science Center, focusing on human Cytochrome P450 expression in the presence of an inflammatory response.

Jordan, a registered patent agent, has a B.S. in Neuroscience from the University of Rochester and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Texas Health Science Center. He completed a post-doctoral position at the Barrow Neurological Institute at the St. Joseph’s Hospital, focusing on gene and protein expression in the EAE Mouse model of Multiple Sclerosis. Additionally, he has multiple technical publications in the areas of gene expression, regulation, and visualization.
