Licensing and Business Development Associate

Pragnesh joined Skysong Innovations in January of 2025 and serves as the Licensing and Business Development Associate for the Life Sciences team. His role involves working closely with ASU faculty and staff and Skysong Innovations’ life sciences team to identify, evaluate, protect, market, and commercialize innovative life science-based technologies developed at ASU.

Prior to joining SI, Pragnesh spent nearly ten years working in the federal government at the National Institutes of Health where he researched autoimmune diseases and facilitated invention development and licensing for cancer and cardiovascular disease technologies. Pragnesh most recently worked as a technology transfer and patent specialist at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute’s Office of Technology Transfer and Development where he drafted and negotiated complex agreements and managed the patent portfolio for clinician scientists within the Cardiovascular and Translational Stem Cell Biology Branches. Pragnesh also worked as a technology transfer manager within the National Cancer Institute’s Technology Transfer Center where he participated in the Invention Development Program and the Drug Development Collaborative.

Pragnesh’s research experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship that he completed in 2018 at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases where he used systems biology and molecular approaches to characterize neutrophil biology subsets in systemic lupus erythematosus and pyoderma gangrenosum and acne (PAPA) syndrome.

Pragnesh has a B.S. in biochemistry from the University of Maryland, College Park and a Ph.D. in immunology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore. Pragnesh’s thesis work focused on using computer-aided drug design to identify small molecular inhibitors of toll-like receptor 2 signaling.
