Shen Yan, J.D.
Director of Intellectual Property
Shen joined Skysong Innovations in May 2017 and serves as Associate Director of Intellectual Property Services. As a registered patent attorney, he works closely with faculty and pursues legal protection for ASU innovation in the Physical Sciences space.
Prior to joining the Skysong Innovations team, he worked in private practice primarily handling patent prosecution matters. He is also well versed in other areas of IP law, including trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets. Prior to practicing law, he worked as an engineer for Intel Corp. and then as a software developer for a startup company.
Shen holds a B.S.E. in computer engineering from ASU and a J.D. from the Sandra Day O’Connor College of Law at ASU.
