Januk Aggarwal, M.Sc.
Director of Intellectual Property
Januk joined Skysong Innovations in March of 2021 and serves as the Director of Intellectual Property for the Physical Sciences team. His role involves working closely with ASU faculty and staff and Skysong Innovations’ business development team to advance ASU discoveries and inventions into the marketplace, by facilitating invention disclosures, evaluating technology, monitoring patent preparation and prosecution, and managing IP.
Prior to joining the Skysong Innovations team, he managed the strategic IP portfolio at Acuity Brands Lighting. In that capacity, he led all stages of the innovation cycle, including ideation, technology scouting, concept development, patent strategy, patent development, patent portfolio management, voice of the customer, business case development, and product commercialization. In addition, he advised senior management on due diligence results for merger & acquisition activities. Januk is a named inventor on 65 U.S. patents.
Januk, a registered patent agent, has a B.Sc. in Physics and Chemistry, and a M.Sc. in Physics from the University of British Columbia.
