Background

3D printing technology is the current standard for applications in customized and individualized manufacturing. 3D printing involves complicated decision-making and individualized expertise unique to experts in the field. Current methods of knowledge sharing on 3D printing technology involve top-down communications methods, where experts are communicating to the users in a manner that lacks use cases. There currently are not any platforms that exist for crowd-sourced knowledge sharing and opinion exchange in this area.

Invention Description

Researchers at Arizona State University have developed 3D Printing AI, a platform that enables convenient knowledge sharing and education for 3D printing. 3D Printing AI includes an integrated social platform for user communication, networking, and crowd-sourced data collection. It also includes an R&D database with user data and will train AI assistance to guide individual users and search for the optimal solutions to their printing needs. 3D Printing AI will offer inclusive communication and education for 3D printing.
